In a momentous occasion held yesterday, the distinguished Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, officially commissioned the newly constructed Lagos Island Local Government Secretariat, the remarkable infrastructural project delivered under the focused and visionary leadership of the Executive Chairman, Prince Adetoyese Olusi.
The Senator, while delivering his keynote address, extolled Prince Olusi for his unwavering dedication, foresight, and exemplary service to the people of Lagos Island. He described the Secretariat as not just a building but a testament to effective governance, purposeful leadership, and a deep sense of responsibility to the electorate.
Senator Eshilokun noted that the new Secretariat stands tall as one of the legacy projects of his administration and one of the best Local Government Secretariat in the State. Noting that project will serve generations and support efficient governance.
He further expressed his confidence in the Chairman-elect, Prince Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan, stating that he firmly believes the incoming administration will not only make judicious use of the new Secretariat but will also build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessors. The Senator charged the Chairman-elect to exceed expectations, raise the bar of performance, and continue the legacy of excellence and development that the people of Lagos Island truly deserve.
The historic event attracted a large and diverse gathering of dignitaries and residents led by the Oba of Lagos ably represented by the Opeluwa of Lagos, alongside an array of White Cap Chiefs, political stakeholders, religious leaders, artisans, youth groups, and members of the community, all of whom came out in their numbers to witness the grand commissioning.
