The government and people of Lagos Mainland Local Government Area witnessed the commissioning of a 40-computer Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre on July 17, 2026, facilitated by Distinguished Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun.
The centre, named the Renewed Hope ICT Centre, was officially commissioned by Prince Tajudeen Olusi, OON, in the presence of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and other stakeholders from Lagos Central Senatorial District.

Speaking on the initiative, Senator Eshilokun explained that the centre was conceived as a hub for learning, innovation, creativity and digital empowerment, particularly for young people seeking to acquire relevant skills in an increasingly technology-driven world.
The senator encouraged youths to take full advantage of the facility to develop competencies in computer applications, digital entrepreneurship, software development, coding, data analysis, digital marketing and artificial intelligence (AI).

Following the commissioning, the facility was formally handed over to the Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland LGA, Hon. Kolawole Emilagba, who was represented at the event by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Moshood Adewale Momoh.
During the ceremony, APC leaders in Lagos Central commended Senator Eshilokun for the initiative and other development projects undertaken since assuming office. Several speakers also described the party’s decision to nominate him as its candidate for the 2023 senatorial election as a decision they believed had yielded positive results.

Other attendees highlighted the senator’s interventions in infrastructure development, educational support, youth empowerment, women’s development, assistance to artisans and care for elderly citizens across Lagos Central Senatorial District.
The establishment of the Renewed Hope ICT Centre represents an investment in digital access and skills development at the local government level. With its 40 computers, the facility is expected to provide residents, particularly young people, with an opportunity to build practical digital competencies that can support further education, entrepreneurship and employment.

The handover to the Lagos Mainland Local Government is expected to support the centre’s use as a community resource for digital learning and capacity development.
The commissioning adds to ongoing conversations about the importance of expanding access to technology and equipping young Nigerians with the skills required to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
